Vacunas y herramientas en comunicación y salud: análisis de la Tarea Asociación Implícita (IAT)

Abstract

Con el movimiento antivacunas se acentúa la percepción de las vacunas como no seguras ni efectivas influyendo en la percepción y comportamiento de la población. Comprender los mecanismos psicosociales subyacentes al “fenómeno antivacunas” permitirá desarrollar mejores programas de intervención. Esta investigación persigue dos objetivos: 1) analizar el Test de Asociación Implícita (IAT) como herramienta de neurocomunicación aplicada a la comunicación y salud, especialmente en vacunas y 2) comprender los mecanismos psicológicos ante el concepto vacuna y anti-vacuna. El IAT es una herramienta útil aunque presenta ciertas características metodológicas. Existe una asociación fuerte de las vacunas con salud, responsabilidad y eficacia.

With the anti-vaccine movement, the perception of vaccines as neither safe nor effective is accentuated, influencing the perception and behavior of the population. Understanding the psychosocial mechanisms underlying the "anti-vaccine phenomenon" will allow the development of better intervention programs. This research pursues two objectives: 1) to analyze the Implicit Association Test (IAT) as a neurocommunication tool applied to communication and health, especially in vaccines, and 2) to understand the psychological mechanisms of the vaccine and anti-vaccine concept. The IAT is a useful tool although it presents certain methodological characteristics. There is a strong association of vaccines with health, responsibility and efficacy.
