Abstract
In the present doctoral thesis, the effectiveness of umbilical mesenchymal stem cells in treating inflammatory and degenerative lesions at the endometrial level in mares was assessed, employing hysteroscopy-guided injection and intrauterine infusion as administration methods. To achieve this goal, the primary objective was to identify a method for histopathological assessment of uterine biopsies in mares. Within this initial section, the repeatability of the Kenney-Doig scale was examined, considered as the international standard classification method. The agreement between two pathologists assessing the same group of 201 uterine biopsies using this scale demonstrated a slight to moderate level of concordance. Therefore, it was concluded that this scale had evident limitations when performing an objective histological evaluation...
