Abstract
The aging process cures with the establishment of chronic oxidative and inflammatory stress that is going to affect all the systems of the organism, especially the regulatory systems (nervous, endocrine, and immune), leading to the loss of the capacity to maintain homeostasis and, therefore, favoring more significant morbidity and mortality. Any factor that influences one of these regulatory systems will affect the communication between them, known as psychoneuroimmunoendocrine communication, and will, therefore, affect the speed at which we age. Thus, it has been observed that lifestyle situations, such as social relationships or diet, and pathological situations, such as Alzheimer's disease or chronic kidney disease, are going to affect these systems, particularly the immune system, and, therefore, influence the speed at which an individual ages...
