Abstract
En la presente tesis doctoral se analiza una selección de novelas del terror rojo ambientadas en Madrid y publicadas entre 1937 y 1939. Como parte de la novela del bando sublevado durante la Guerra Civil, estas novelas se caracterizan por una descripción degradante del entorno republicano y de sus simpatizantes. En ellas puede advertirse la presencia de un marcado afán distorsionador que no solo confirma su condición de producto propagandístico, sino que permite orientar su análisis en torno a la categoría estética de lo grotesco. Los estudios críticos dedicados a estas obras han subrayado, con mayor o menor detenimiento, la existencia de elementos grotescos kayserianos o siniestros en el sentido en el que lo conceptualizó Sigmund Freud: das Unheimliche. En términos generales se apunta a la voluntad deshumanizadora que comparten estas novelas con la propaganda de guerra al presentar una realidad familiar súbitamente trocada en un infierno en la retaguardia republicana...
This doctoral thesis analyzes a selection of red terror novels set in Madrid and published between 1937 and 1939. As part of the novels of the rebel side during the Civil War, these novels are characterized by a degrading description of the Republican environment and its sympathizers. In them we can notice the presence of a marked distortionist zeal that not only confirms their condition as a propagandistic product, but also allows us to orient their analysis around the aesthetic category of the grotesque. The critical studies devoted to these works have emphasized, with greater or lesser detail, the existence of Kayserian grotesque or sinister elements in the sense in which Sigmund Freud conceptualized it: das Unheimliche. In general terms, they point to the dehumanizing will that these novels share with war propaganda in presenting a familiar reality suddenly transformed into a hell in the Republican rearguard...
