Abstract
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection is the most common sexually transmitted infection in the world, responsible for benign and malignant pathology in both sexes. HPV prevention campaigns have improved the incidence of cervical cancer in developed countries. However, there are other tumours associated with this infection for which there is no screening, which are increasing in incidence. We have designed a study on women's knowledge of HPV to inform the National Health System in order to develop HPV-related preventive plans. Our main objective is to study the knowledge about HPV of women attending general gynaecology consultations, using ad hoc questionnaires and their relationship with previous infection or not by this virus...
