Abstract
Esta tesis doctoral es un estudio detallado sobre la simbología política que se exhibió y los actores políticos y sociales que participaron en la fiesta revolucionaria que precedió y acompañó a la proclamación de la Segunda República el 14 de abril de 1931.El principal objetivo de esta investigación es conocer en profundidad y al máximo detalle las formas de celebración del cambio de régimen en España el 14 de abril de1931. El resultado de este proyecto es la elaboración exhaustiva de un mapa simbólico sobre la fiesta revolucionaria que impulsó la proclamación de la Segunda República en todas las ciudades, provincias y regiones de España. Para ello ha sido necesario estudiarlas culturas políticas del republicanismo y el socialismo españoles y los diferentes acuerdos políticos que socialistas y republicanos fueron firmando desde finales del siglo XIX y principios del XX, que llevaron finalmente a la firma del Pacto de San Sebastián en agosto de 1930 y a los posteriores mítines de afirmación republicana. Esta serie de acuerdos políticos fueron difundidos a través de algunos de sus principales medios de sociabilidad, como los periódicos, los casinos republicanos o las Casas del Pueblo socialistas, y representados en numerosos homenajes, banquetes, mítines y manifestaciones. Este hecho permitió que algunos ciudadanos pudieran conocer en profundidad, antes incluso del 14 de abril de 1931, el origen y el significado de la simbología política que se exhibió en las calles de todas las ciudades de España en la proclamación de la Segunda República española...
This Doctoral Thesis consists of detailed study about an exhibited political symbolism and socio-political protagonists who participated in the Revolutionary Festival, which led up to, and accompanied, the proclamation of the Second Spanish Republic on 14th of April 1931. The major purpose of this research is to acquire an indepth knowledge on the celebration forms of regimen changes in Spain produced on 14th of April 1931. The results obtained from this investigation provide a thorough elaborated inventory of symbols related to the Revolutionary Festival, which prompted the proclamation of the Second Spanish Republic in all Spanish cities, provinces and regions. For this, it was necessary to study political cultures of republicanism and socialism, as well as different political agreements signed by representatives of parties related to these both ideologies, which started at the end of the 19th century and in the beginnings of the 20th century, which finally led to the signing of the Pact of San Sebastián in August 1930 and in consequence results in several republican meetings. This series of political agreements were diffused through some of the mainstream social medias, such as newspapers, republican clubs, socialist’s Houses of the People and were represented at numerous homages, banquets, meetings and manifestations. This fact allowed to some of citizens to know in depth, even before the 14th of April 1931, the origin and meaning of the political symbolism which was present on the streets of all Spanish cities during the proclamation of the Second Spanish Republic...
