Abstract
La Enfermera Especialista en Salud Mental es la base del cuidado hacia la persona con enfermedad mental de nuestro sistema sanitario psiquiátrico y son definidos en su programa formativo como: “el profesional sanitario que, con una actitud científica responsable y utilizando los medios clínicos y tecnológicos adecuados al desarrollo de la ciencia en cada momento, proporciona una atención especializada en salud mental mediante la prestación de cuidados de enfermería”1.El objetivo principal del programa formativo de la especialidad de Enfermería de Salud Mental es: “la adquisición de competencias”(Orden SPI1356/2011)1. Sin embargo, la forma de evaluar estas competencias profesionales ha cambiado con el tiempo. Existe documentación oficial sobre las competencias profesionales que debe adquirir un Enfermero Especialista en Salud Mental a través de la Formación Sanitaria Especializada (FSE), donde se detallan criterios y actividades a cumplir, así como la cadencia de la evaluación1.
