La figura mítica del sacerdote en la literatura, la cultura y la sociedad

Abstract

La figura del sacerdote ha tenido una gran relevancia en las sociedades contemporáneas al menos hasta la segunda mitad del siglo XX, ejerciendo paralelamente una gran fascinación. Prueba de ello es la gran difusión que ha tenido tanto en la literatura como en la cultura en general. El objetivo de esta exposición es analizar por un lado el papel desempeñado por el sacerdote en la sociedad española contemporánea, comparándolo con otras figuras equivalentes de otras comunidades, como el pastor evangélico o el pope ortodoxo. Por otro lado, estudiaremos el reflejo tanto positivo como negativo que la figura del sacerdote ha tenido en las distintas literaturas y culturas europeas, comprobando su nivel de difusión en la cultura popular.

The figure of the priest had a great relevance in the comtemporary societies at least until the second half of the 20th century, being an enormous source of fascination. As a matter of fact, it had a widespread diffusion in the literature as well as in the culture in general. The aim of this exhibition is to analyse on the one hand the role played by the priest in the contemporary Spanish society, comparing it with other equivalent figures in other communities, such as the Evangelical pastor or the Ortodoxo pope. On the other hand, it will study the reflection both positive and negative that the figure of the priest had in the different European literatures and cultures, observing its level of diffusion in the popular culture.
