Abstract
In recent years, political consensus in Spain places inequality as an axis of problematisation of social order. This problematisation of inequality has crystallised in the promotion of policies aimed at correcting it in various areas, which usually results in the hegemonic promotion of women’s insertion into the labour market. The meanings and objectives on gender equality that articulate these political interventions, as produced in a neoliberal context, present interactions between neoliberal common senses and epistemes and feminist demands. A paradigmatic example of the meanings around gender equality is found in the policies aimed at solving women’s underrepresentation in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, given the progressive positioning of entrepreneurship as a new cultural and identity archetype in the current context.Assuming this contextual diagnosis as the starting point of the research, the aim of this work is to analyse the (mis)matches between gender and neoliberal epistemes in the political production of the problem of women’s underrepresentation in entrepreneurship in Spain, as well as the interpretations around young women entrepreneurs’ experiences (related both to the doxic reproduction of neoliberal demands and the emergence of distancing mechanisms and resistances to them). In this context, a qualitative analysis has been made of the narratives of different subjects in various enunciative positions within the entrepreneurial dispositive (policy makers, managers of entrepreneurship programmes for women, women trainers and women entrepreneurs), as well as political interventions aimed at promoting women’s entrepreneurship...
