Abstract
The concept of queer flamenco comes from the need to label or locate a way of living flamenco directly related to an identity, the queer one; whose characters pose the existence of a third space inserted between the masculine universe and the feminine universe, being this an area required and requested by the LGTBIQ+ collective, achieved through an arduous and long way of vindictive activity in favor of their own rights. Thus, this research relies on gender studies and queer theories to understand the praxis of this identity and its insertion in flamenco, applying its initial meaning and its particular semiotics as an element that has a "strange", "different", "hybrid" character, belonging to a larger collective. The presence of the queer universe in flamenco dance provokes the questioning of the binary and normative foundations of traditional flamenco on which its technical, aesthetic, interpretative and choreographic corpus was developed, essentially based on the cisgender of its performers. This is why the queer perspective requires a restructuring of this organization that conforms to its third gender identity and its values of equality, tolerance and diversity...
