Abstract
La victoria cristiana de 1212 tuvo un enorme impacto dentro y fuera de la Península Ibérica. Si bien las fuentes describen inicialmente las dimensiones excepcionales del acontecimiento, el paso del tiempo permitió evaluar e interpretar la batalla y sus consecuencias desde una perspectiva más amplia. Algunos vieron en Las Navas el comienzo de la decadencia del califato almohade; otros creían que había iniciado el principio del fin de la dominación musulmana en la Península Ibérica. Esta aportación aborda la memoria de la batalla en las fuentes del siglo XIII.
