Abstract

En los últimos siglos, las profesiones sanitarias han tenido la necesidad de agruparse y crear gremios o asociaciones para defender sus intereses, así pues lo haría la clase odontológica siguiendo el ejemplo de los médicos, con sus antecesores las Cofradías, con la influencia del Tribunal del Protomedicato y la fundación del Colegio de Médicos. Los Sangradores y Ministrantes con el Colegio de Sevilla, los Practicantes, los Cirujanos Dentistas con Cayetano Triviño y Portillo y su Colegio Español de Dentistas fueron figuras que empujaron a la creación de sociedades odontológicas con personajes tan importantes como Florestán Aguilar y Bernardino Landete. In last centuries, the health professions had the need of merging together and create board or associations of dentists to protect their interests, therefore the dentists followed the doctors, with their predecessors the Brotherhoods, with the influence of the Court of Protomedicato and foundation of the Medical Council.
