Abstract
El objetivo de la investigación era conocer al personaje, uno de los autores del que más obras filosóficas nos han quedado de la Antigüedad, y el tratado dedicado a los terapeutas, un escrito sobre una comunidad filosófica judía muy original de aquel momento. Filón fue un filósofo hebreo que vivió entre el siglo primero a. C. y el primero d. C. en la ciudad de Alejandría, donde había nacido, ya que su familia, una de las más acaudaladas y relevantes de la ciudad, se había establecido en ella tiempo atrás. Fundamentalmente, Filón se dedicó a la composición de tratados filosófico-teológicos relacionados con el credo judío, y a atender los asuntos políticos que, en un momento convulso para la politeuma mosaica alejandrina, sus correligionarios demandaban. Precisamente, algunas de las obras que compuso estaban destinadas a hacer una apología de la nación judía, frente a los ataques sufridos en aquella época...
The main objective of this work is to improve our knowledge of this author of the Classical Antiquity, who has bequeathed us an exceptionally large and well preserved catalogue of works, and to study his treatise devoted to the Therapeutae, a Jewish philosophical community which was very original at the time when it was founded.Philo was a Jewish philosopher who lived between I B. C. and I A. D. in Alexandria, where his family, one of the wealthiest and most relevant of the place, had settled some time before. He committed himself to compose works of philosophy and theology related to the Jewish creed, and to look after the political affairs of his co-religionists at an especially troubled period for the Alexandrian Mosaic Politeuma...
