En las páginas que conforman este trabajo de investigación se ha pretendidoanalizar el alcance de la influencia que ejercieron los mitos y leyendas relacionados con la oscuridad y las figuras oscuras en la pintura europea del siglo XIX. Puesto que esta tesis doctoral se incluye en el ámbito de las bellas artes, dicho análisis ha sido realizado en base al estudio y la recopilación de obras pictóricas realizadas por artistas enmarcados en esa región y época concretas. A través de dichas imágenes ha sido posible determinar cuáles fueron los mitos relacionados con la oscuridad más representados pictóricamente, qué artistas fueron los que más trabajaron esta temática y en qué regiones europeas se desarrollaron más obras pictóricas de este tipo..
The intention of the pages compiled on this research work has been to analyze the scope of the influence exerted by myths and legends related to darkness and dark figures in 19th century European painting. Since this PhD is included in the field of fine arts, this analysis has been carried out based on the study and collection of pictorial works made by artists framed in that specific region and time. Through these images, it has been possible to determine which were the myths related to darkness most represented pictorially, which artists were the ones who worked on this topic the most and in which European regions more pictorial works of this type were developed...
