Abstract
In this doctoral thesis, the impact that early 20th-century writers had on the development of Spanish scenic dance through ballet is analyzed. The study focuses on writings (arguments, librettos, notes, letters) to delve into the dramaturgical construction. The premise is that literati approached dance due to a corporeal turn in Spanish culture, leading to an attempt to nationalize ballet as a fictional artifact that encapsulated the total work of art. Thus, an ad hoc methodology is proposed which situates text within dance and focuses specifically on the Silver Age. Over fifty ballets, some with various versions, have been compiled, identified, and dated to construct an unprecedented historiographical narrative on this topic within the studied synchrony...
