Abstract
An environmental problem related with the degradation of fluvial biological communities, specifically with the trout, exist in the Upper Tagus Natural Park. No scientific study identifying one of the potential factors related to the complex environmental consequence has been hitherto published. However, it is assumed that there is an influence of the emission of detritic sediments to the fluvial network from the surrounding mined areas. In the framework, the main aim of this thesis is to understand the sediment fluxes - along with identifying and quantifying the main sediment source-, in the sector of Upper Tagus Natural Park between the villages of Peralejos de las Truchas, Poveda de la Sierra and Peñalen, where the main gullies and kaolin mines of the region exist.
