Abstract
The labor market in Germany and Spain have some peculiarities own and, therefore, in the face of the same variable, the labor productivity of various Economies will react differently. This empirical analysis seeks to explain the variables that influence labor productivity from a legal-labor perspective, in Spain, since in 1985 the Real Decree 1989/1984 and in Germany, since the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1989, until 2018, since the following years have been affected by the COVID factor, being an extraordinary situation, with exceptional measures and results, the which could damage the conclusions. After performing regression models simple, it has been possible to corroborate the countercyclical behavior presented by the Spanish economy with respect to labor productivity. Therefore, it is concludes as a problem of the labor market the high temporality and the rigidity of this market compared to the German one and a closer relationship is suggested in the labor regulations, in order to reduce the unemployment rate in Spain
