Abstract
ABSTRACT: We present a new Virgin of Sorrows attributed to the sculptor José de Mora located in the monastery of the Comendadoras de Santiago of Madrid. We also analyze the aristocratic and artistic environment in which Mora unfolded upon his arrival at the Court of Madrid, and especially his possible link with the ‘santiaguista’ circle around this monastery.
