Abstract
El objetivo de este trabajo es conocer el origen, el funcionamiento y el alcance de la enseñanza del piano en el Conservatorio de Madrid durante el magisterio de Pedro Pérez de Albéniz (1830-1854), el primer y único profesor titular de la cátedra de piano de la primera institución pública de enseñanza musical en España durante su primer cuarto de siglo de vida, a través del análisis de los aspectos organizativo–institucionales, el profesorado, el alumnado, los instrumentos empleados, la metodología aplicada y el repertorio interpretado. Este objetivo general se concreta en los siguientes objetivos específicos: enmarcar la enseñanza del piano en esta institución en su contexto histórico y músico social; establecer la relevancia de la figura de Pedro Albéniz al frente de la cátedra de piano durante casi veinticinco años; especificar cuáles fueron los aspectos institucionales y organizativos por los que se rigió el funcionamiento de dicha cátedra; analizar e interpretar el número de alumnos, sus características, su proyección laboral y comprobar quiénes fueron los más destacados; reconstruir cómo fueron los procesos de adquisición, venta y reparación de los instrumentos a disposición del alumnado de piano, sus características constructivas y fabricantes, así como valorar cuáles fueron las implicaciones de contar con estos instrumentos; detallar los eventos musicales celebrados en el Conservatorio, la participación del alumnado de piano en los mismos, así como el repertorio y la técnica trabajados; determinar si las características de los instrumentos, el repertorio y la técnica pianística colaboraron en la configuración de períodos de enseñanza marcados por una estética específica...
The main objective of this work is to learn about the origin, functioning and scope of Madrid Conservatory piano teaching during the tenure of Pedro Pérez de Albéniz (1830-1854), the first and only piano teacher at the first public institution of musical education in Spain during the first twenty-four years. This study is carried out by analysing the organisational-institutional aspects, the teaching staff, the student body, the instruments used, the methodology applied and the repertoire performed. This general objective is concretised in the following specific objectives: to frame piano teaching in this institution and in its historical and musical-social context; to establish the relevance of the figure of Pedro Albéniz at the head of the piano class for almost twenty-five years; to specify the institutional and organisational aspects that governed the functioning of this class; to analyse and interpret the number of students, their characteristics, their employment prospects and to verify who were the most outstanding ones; to reconstruct the processes of acquisition, sale and repair of the instruments available to piano students, their construction characteristics and manufacturers, as well as assess the implications of having these instruments available; detail the musical events held at the Conservatory, the participation of piano students in them, as well as the repertoire and technique worked on; determine whether the characteristics of the instruments, the repertoire and the piano technique collaborated in the configuration of teaching periods marked by a specific aesthetic...
