El papel de la mujer en la construcción del Estado palestino

Abstract

La presente Tesis Doctoral muestra la historia del movimiento de mujeres palestinas y el papel que las mujeres palestinas en general han desempeñado en la lucha por la autodeterminación de la Palestina histórica entre 1929 y 1982. Con este fin, estudia el impacto que la colonización y ocupación de Palestina tienen sobre las mujeres, su papel en los procesos y la lucha por el cambio social y político, así como también, el cómo estas mujeres se han organizado y/o han reaccionado a las mismas en cada momento y lugar de este periodo de la historia de la lucha nacional palestina. Para ello la tesis se ha estructurado cronológicamente en dos partes: una Primera Parte correspondiente al periodo anterior a 1948, donde la mayoría de la actividad de las mujeres se produce dentro de la Palestina histórica; y, una Segunda Parte, correspondiente al periodo posterior a 1948. La Primera Parte titulada “La mujer palestina durante el Mandato británico (1920-1948)” se compone de cuatro capítulos. Un capítulo de contexto y antecedentes al periodo a tratar: Capítulo Primero: “La mujer palestina durante el Imperio otomano (XIX-1920)”. Y tres capítulos donde se trata el origen, desarrollo y estructuración de un movimiento de mujeres palestinas entorno a los acontecimientos políticos que se producen hasta el final del Mandato británico sobre Palestina: Capítulo Segundo: “La gestación de un movimiento de mujeres en Palestina durante el Mandato británico (1920-1936)”...This PhD Thesis presents the history of the Palestinian women's movement and the role that Palestinian women in general have played in the Palestinian struggle for self-determination between 1929 and 1982. To this end, it studies the impact that the colonization and occupation of Palestine has on Palestinian women, their role in the processes and the struggle for social and political change, as well as, how these women have organized themselves and/or have reacted to the colonization and occupation of their land in every different time and place of this period in the history of the Palestinian national struggle. 18 For this, the Thesis is structured in two parts: the First Part corresponding to the period before 1948, where most of the activity of women occurs within historic Palestine; and a Second Part, covering the post-1948 period. The First Part, entitled "Palestinian women during the British Mandate (1920-1948)" consists of four chapters. A chapter of context and background to the period covered: Chapter One: "Palestinian women during the Ottoman Empire (XIX-1920)". And three chapters about the origin, development and structuring of a Palestinian women's movement around the political events that occur until the end of the British Mandate over Palestine: Chapter Two: "The formation of a women's movement in Palestine during the British Mandate (1920-1936)".
