Abstract
La idea de la fabricación de objetos en laca en el imaginario occidental está asociada a China y Japón, sin embargo, en los países del Sudeste Asiático se ha mantenido una larga y rica tradición. Esta investigación se establece con la finalidad de catalogar estos bienes culturales facilitando su comprensión y conservación. Se han reflejado los países en los que actualmente subsiste la producción y se demuestra cómo el comercio asiático interior se desarrolló desde períodos antiguos. El proceso de intercambio comercial posiblemente se mantuvo con la llegada de portugueses y españoles al territorio. The idea of manufacturing lacquer objects in the Western imagination is associated with China and Japan, however, in the countries of Southeast Asia a long and rich tradition has been maintained. This research is established with the purpose of cataloging these cultural assets, facilitating their understanding and conservation.The countries in which production currently subsists have been reflected and it is demonstrated how internal Asian trade developed since ancient periods. The commercial exchange process was possibly maintained with the arrival of the Portuguese and Spanish to the territory. Therefore, it is considered that these manufacturing processes should be placed in a general context, being practices probably extended from China...
