Abstract
The burdens of marriage are presented as an undefined legal concept in the matrimonial property system. However, there are several references that suggest the kind of expenses which are comprised in them, if we take into account several legal institutions. On this basis, the aim of this work is to define what initially appears as an undefined legal concept through these legal institutions in order to provide a single concept of the burdens of marriage, regardless of the system to be applied to matrimonial property.
