Abstract
This paper analyses all the information related to one of the psychosocial factors we must bear in mind when studying talent development in adolescent, and how it is directly related to education and teaching strategies. To do so, I have reviewed the different theoretical models that have been elaborated during the last years, so that it allows us to fully understand the importance of the psychosocial factors in developing talent. As it can be seen, these models have evolved through the years. Firstly, their concern was how could the quantify the intelligence, and they put all the effort in achieving a test that could give them this information. As they kept on studying, they discovered that it is not only IQ what matters, and that other factors play an important role when talking about child talent development, and especially, when talking about intelligence and capacities. I am going to explain Grit, which is one of the psychosocial characteristics that affect talent development, to try to find out how important it can be to children and their learning process. Grit is a psychosocial factor, considered a personality trait, thanks to which we keep fighting for what we want to achieve. It is what we need so we can overcome our limits and improve and get better each time. It is about how we manage failure and learn from it.
