Abstract
In this article we analyse the concept of epigraphic traditio, studying the epitaphs of the Belloch family in the monastery of Sant Pau del Camp, in Barcelona. The National Archaeological Museum in Madrid contains an identical inscription to the one we found in Sant Pau del Camp; it is the epitaph of Bertrán de Belloch. Our research has proven that the epigraph located in the National Archaeological Museum is the original, and the epigraph in Sant Pau del Camp is a copy. This was done to conceal the absence of the epigraph due to the historical vicissitudes the monastery suffered during the nineteenth century.
