| dc.description.abstract | Aunque el título sea conscientemente provocador, atiende a una realidad concreta en el siglo V, la disputa entre el Reino de los Vándalo y Alanos de África y el Imperio Romano. La referencia a una Cuarta Guerra Púnica, más de seiscientos años después de haber finalizado la tercera, alude a un juego de identificaciones, manipulaciones y propagandas entre ambos actores tardoantiguos que cimentaban su legitimidad en el pasado remoto. Este artículo se centra en la parte vándala del conflicto, en las motivaciones y consecuencias políticas, militares, sociales e ideológicas de este uso a través del registro textual, monetal e iconográfico de este período.
