La metáfora del mundo como organismo en Der Zauberlehrling oder die Teufelsjäger y Alraune, eine Geschichte eines lebenden Wesens de Hanns Heinz Ewers: un análisis de motivos a la luz de la metaforología de Hans Blumenberg

Abstract

El objetivo de esta tesis doctoral es el estudio de la metáfora del mundo como organismo propia del paradigma cultural de la Moderne, a través del análisis del motivo del martirio en la novela Der Zauberlehrling oder die Teufelsjäger y del motivo de la mandrágora en Alraune, eine Geschichte eines lebenden Wesens, las dos primeras novelas de la Trilogía de Frank Braun del escritor alemán Hanns Heinz Ewers (1871-1943). La base teórica de esta investigación se fundamenta en la propuesta metafolorógica del filósofo alemán Hans Blumenberg (1920-1996), que defiende la legitimidad de las metáforas como el instrumento del cual se vale el ser humano para hacer significativo al mundo y de esta manera dominar la realidad y liberarse de su absolutismo. A través de las metáforas sustituimos el mundo inabarcable, amenazante e incomprensible por una representación del mundo a la medida de lo humano más familiar y habitable. De esta manera, el ser humano, que era invisible en un mundo por completo indiferente a su existencia, abandona su posición de precariedad e incertidumbre y se hace visible en la historia...

The aim of this dissertation is to study the metaphor of the world as an organism of the cultural paradigm of the Moderne by analyzing the motif of martyrdom in the novel Der Zauberlehrling oder die Teufelsjäger and the motif of the mandrake in Alraune, eine Geschichte eines lebenden Wesens, the first two novels of the Frank Braun Trilogy by the German writer Hanns Heinz Ewers (1871-1943). The theoretical basis of this research is based on the metaphorological proposal of the German philosopher Hans Blumenberg (1920-1996), who defends the legitimacy of metaphors as the instrument that human beings use to make the world meaningful and thus dominate reality by liberating themselves from its absolutism. Through metaphors one replaces a world which is incomprehensible, threatening and incomprehensible with a representation of it that is more familiar and habitable.
