Abstract
En este artículo se analiza la evolución de los informativos (Noticias Cuatro) de la cadena española Cuatro, en dos etapas de su existencia: La primera etapa durante los años 2017 y 2018, antes de que la cadena los suprimiera en 2019, y la segunda etapa de 2024, cuando reaparecen. Se ofrece un análisis cuantitativo y cualitativo, desarrollado en el marco del grupo de investigación Observatorio de la Calidad de la Información en Televisión, de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid en España, que pone el foco en el tratamiento de la información, entonces y ahora, atendiendo a variables como la duración, los formatos y géneros, los temas de mayor interés, los protagonistas o el uso de nuevas tecnologías. El análisis de los resultados confirma la hipótesis de que los informativos de la cadena española Cuatro, en su nueva etapa, presentan cambios formales y de contenido en el tratamiento de la información. Entre ellos en conclusión destacan el aumento de su duración, el mayor aporte de contexto y profundización en las noticias, así como un mayor apoyo en factores visuales, como las infografías y los videowalls.
This article analyzes the evolution of the news programs (Noticias Cuatro) on the Spanish network Cuatro in two stages of its existence: the first stage during 2017 and 2018, before the network discontinued them in 2019, and the second stage in 2024, when they reappeared. A quantitative and qualitative analysis is offered, developed within the framework of the Observatory of the Quality of Information on Television research group at the Complutense University of Madrid in Spain. This analysis focuses on the treatment of information, then and now, considering variables such as duration, formats and genres, topics of greatest interest, protagonists, and the use of new technologies. The analysis of the results confirms the hypothesis that the news programs on the Spanish network Cuatro, in their new phase, present formal and content changes in the treatment of information. Among them, in conclusion, the most notable are the increase in its duration, the greater contribution of context and depth in the news, as well as greater support in visual factors, such as infographics and video walls.
