Abstract
The aim of this project titled "The Relationship Between High Sensitivity and Anxiety in 5th and 6th Grade Students in the Community of Madrid," is to examine the existing relationship between anxiety and high sensitivity in students from the aforementioned grades in the Community of Madrid.Subsequently, other objectives have been outlined and explored throughout the work. On one hand, the aim was to define the concept of sensitivity and its conceptualization throughout history. To this end, the present thesis compiles various perceptions of sensitivity over the centuries, as the understanding of this concept has evolved over time. The perspective has shifted from one where sensitivity was subordinated to reason, to broader viewpoints in which sensitivity not only complements reason, but is also regarded as an important trait that should be considered and cultivated in order for an individual to develop fully. The focus then shifted to various theories related to the concept of high sensitivity, as proposed by different authors. This can be conceived as Overexcitability (Dabrowski), Sensory Processing Sensitivity (Elaine Aron), or Environmental Sensitivity (Michael Pluess). Additionally, related concepts such as Complex Capacity (Pardo de Santayana) and Sensitive Education and Intelligence (Martínez Domínguez) are also discussed...
