Abstract
This article is to analyze not only the content but the form of the cinematographic newsreels related with woman on the political stage, created in Italy between 1945 and 1953. The main objective is to identify the more popular feminine stereotypes frequently found in the political field in the first years of the Italian democracy. This allows us to witnesses how political participation of Italian women was represented at the movie theaters. Those women inherited an area of action to which traditionally were linked to, as cinematographic Italian newsreels, such as Nuova Luce and Settimana Incom. These studies shed some light on the limited political participation of the collective, as well as their importance.
