Abstract
The thesis entitled Trans identities under the gaze of stigma: A critical analysis of narratives about (and from) the margins of gender addresses the historical, medical, and social construction of transgender identities from a constructionist and interactionist perspective, with the aim of understanding how social stigma is produced and reproduced within this collective. The research was conducted within the Spanish national context, adopting a qualitative methodology that combines documentary analysis with biographical interviews with individuals whose life trajectories break with the binary logic of sex and gender. Furthermore, the study frames transgender experiences as a phenomenon shaped by a network of overlapping discourses and lived experiences, providing a critical perspective on the stigmatizing processes that continue to shape these experiences today
