Abstract
The printing press was installed at the end of the 15th century in the kingdom of Navarre, although its early settlement was interrupted for a few decades until the middle of the following century. From then on we could say that the publishing business was consolidated in those lands, although it was from 1600 onwards when an authentic framework of both production and commercialization of the book was developed. Thus, it can be affirmed that the navarrese book reached a stage of true apogee during the 17thcentury coinciding with a series of very successful printers and booksellers, which exponentially increased the printed production. This reality could already be perceived through the bibliographic works elaborated between the 19th and 20th centuries by local scholars, such as Altadill, Arigita or Pérez Goyena. However, the appearance of new printed testimonies from Navarre has revealed the need to update what was known about printing press and books in 17th century Navarre...
