El principal objetivo de este estudio es examinar la dificultad que implica la comprensión de la ironía verbal en el texto escrito, tanto para hablantes nativos de español como para los no nativos dentro del proceso de aprendizaje y adquisición1 del español como lengua extranjera (ELE, en lo sucesivo). Este objetivo general se desglosa en los correspondientes específicos, referidos al papel de los indicadores léxico-semánticos en dicho proceso de comprensión textual. Se busca con ello dar una mayor visibilidad a estos elementos que favorecen la interpretación de la ironía verbal presente en los textos.
