Abstract
Local postoperative haematomas are very common after lumbar disc surgery but nearly always they pass without symptoms and the need for evacuation is extremely rare. Very few have been reported as a cause of neurological deterioration after surgery [1±3]. We report a new case in which diagnosis was made by MR.
