Nivel socioeconómico y cultural familiar y su relación con la motivación y el rendimiento en Educación Primaria

Abstract

Desde la creación del Informe Coleman en 1966 en EEUU, que relacionaba el rendimiento académico con la raza y el nivel socioeconómico familiar, se han realizado numerosas investigaciones sobre la relación de los aspectos familiares con la motivación y el rendimiento escolar. Sin embargo, hoy en día, la realidad sigue siendo la desigualdad de oportunidades en la educación. Por ello, esta investigación pretende averiguar de qué forma influyen el nivel socioeconómico (estudios de los padres, profesión de los padres e ingresos) y cultural familiar (nº de hijos, país de origen, libros en casa…) en la motivación y el rendimiento escolar del alumnado de 6º de Primaria. Pero no debemos quedarnos ahí y por ello, este estudio aspira ser el punto de partida para crear un proyecto de actuación a nivel municipal con alumnado, centros y familias. El diseño de investigación es no experimental y exploratorio, realizándose a través de tres cuestionarios (alumnado, familias y tutores) para 6º de Primaria de centros públicos y privados/concertados de Fuenlabrada. La investigación se encuentra en la fase de entrevistas con directores, entrega y recogida de cuestionarios. De momento, participan un total de 22 centros, 15 públicos y 7 privados/concertados del municipio. La participación estimada de alumnado oscila entre 500 y 1200. Una vez recogidos todos los cuestionarios, se realizará el análisis de los datos y se podrá observar si esas desigualdades familiares se proyectan en la motivación y el rendimiento del alumnado. Si fuese cierto o se encontrase cualquier otro resultado significativo, se realizaría una segunda parte de la investigación que contendría un proyecto en colaboración con el ayuntamiento para actuar con alumnado, centros y familias del municipio y así poder servir de estudio piloto para poder extrapolar este proyecto a otros municipios.Since the creation of the Coleman Report in 1966 in the USA, which linked academic performance with race and family socioeconomic level, numerous investigations have been conducted on the relationship of family aspects with motivation and school performance. However, nowadays, the reality is still the inequality of opportunities in education. Therefore, this research aims to find out how socioeconomic level (studies of parents, profession of parents and income) and family culture (number of children, country of origin, books at home ...) on motivation and performance school of the 6th grade Primary students. But we should not stay there and therefore, this study aims to be the starting point to create an action project at the municipal level with students, centers and families. The research design is non-experimental and exploratory, carried out through three questionnaires (students, families and tutors) for 6th grade in public and private / concerted (private schools partially subsidized by the Government) schools in Fuenlabrada. The investigation is in the phase of interviews with directors, delivery and collection of questionnaires. At the moment, a total of 22 centers participate, 15 public and 7 private / concerted of the municipality. The estimated participation of students ranges from 500 to 1200. Once all the questionnaires have been collected, the analysis of the data will be carried out and it will be possible to observe if these family inequalities are projected in the students' motivation and performance. If it were true or any other significant result was found, a second part of the investigation would be carried out that would contain a project in collaboration with the city council to act with students, centers and families of the municipality and thus serve as a pilot study to be able to extrapolate this project to other municipalities.
