Abstract

El melanoma cutáneo presenta un marcado aumento de su incidencia a nivel global en las últimas décadas. Representa únicamente el 3-4% de los tumores cutáneos malignos, pero es responsable de aproximadamente el 90% de las muertes por cáncer cutáneo. El melanoma cutáneo de cabeza y cuello (MCC) representa un porcentaje elevado del total de melanomas y presenta una serie de características epidemiológicas, clínico-histológicas y pronósticas que lo diferencian del resto de melanomas cutáneos.Objetivos Describir las características epidemiológicas, clínicas, histológicas, tiempo libre de enfermedad y supervivencia cáncer-específica de una serie de pacientes con MCC. A steady rise in the number of melanoma cases has been observed worldwide over the past few decades. Melanoma accounts for about 3-4% of all skin cancers, but it causes most of the skin cancer deaths. Cutaneous head and neck melanomas (CHNM) account for a significant percentage of melanomas and show specific epidemiological and clinical-histological characteristics that differentiate them from other melanomas.ObjectivesTo describe the epidemiological and clinical-histological features of this sample of CHNM patients and perform a statistical analysis in order to find associations between the different variables.
