Voces y palabras (Conversaciones en el CDAN)

Abstract

Creación artística. "Voces y palabras" se concibe a partir de textos “impresos” sobre el terreno. La práctica de materializar la escritura con un sentido al tiempo simbólico y plástico es antigua; véase el arte caligráfico oriental o musulmán. “Voces y palabras” refleja las experiencias del collage y, sobre todo, las dadaístas: Dada, como libre fluir de la tipografía cuya única norma es el rechazo de la norma. Se nutre, además, conceptualmente de un texto, Gargantúa y Pantagruel, que se nos presenta hoy en su irreverencia como dadaísta avant la lettre. Las célebres palabras que caen materializadas en hielo sobre la cubierta del navío, liberando su voz a medida que se descongelan son una reflexión sobre el lenguaje tan sorprendente y bella como hilarante. Son estas frases de Rabelais las que recorren los jardines del CDAN liberando sus sonidos para, poco a poco, sucumbir después a la hierba y las flores que enseguida las atraviesan.

Artistic work. "Voices and words" is conceived on the basis of texts "printed" on the ground. The practice of materialising writing with a meaning that is both symbolic and plastic is ancient, as in calligraphic art in the East or in Muslim art. "Voices and Words" reflects the experiences of collage and, above all, those of Dada: Dada, as the free flow of typography whose only norm is the rejection of the norm. It is also conceptually nourished by a text, Gargantua and Pantagruel, which is presented to us today in its irreverence as Dada avant la lettre. The famous words that fall materialised in ice on the deck of the ship, releasing their voice as they thaw, are a reflection on language that is as surprising and beautiful as it is hilarious. It is these phrases by Rabelais that roam the gardens of the CDAN, releasing their sounds, only to succumb little by little to the grass and flowers that soon pass through them.
