Abstract
La enfermera de cuidados intensivos está expuesta a diferentes estresores, entre los que se encuentran las características del paciente crítico y la complejidad de sus cuidados, la carga emocional originada por los incidentes críticos o el propio sufrimiento del paciente; a esto, se añade una situación de pandemia por laCOVID-19 que somete a tensión, aún más, la labor de las enfermeras. El grado de afrontamiento de estas situaciones con alta carga emocional va a depender, también, de diferentes factores inherentes a la enfermera, como es el tipo de personalidad o su resiliencia. El ser humano es un ser emocional y concretamente a la enfermera, se le añaden diferentes conflictos éticos relacionados con la responsabilidad de preservar la integridad de salud física, psicológica y social de las personas. Cuando la salud del paciente está en riesgo, puede ocasionar problemas en la salud psíquica del profesional. Entre los problemas de salud detectados en los profesionales de primera línea se encuentra la ansiedad, la depresión y el estrés; siendo el Trastorno de Estrés Postraumático (TEPT) el síntoma con mayor afectación influyendo en la calidad de vida del profesional y en el cuidado al paciente...
The intensive care nurse is exposed to different stressors, such as the characteristics of critical patients and their complex care, the emotional overload caused by critical incidents or the patient's suffering; Added to this is a pandemic situation due to COVID-19, which puts even more stress on the work of nurses. The response to these situations with a high emotional charge will also depend on different factors inherent to the nurse, such as the type of personality or his resilience. Human beings are emotional and specifically for nurses, different ethical conflicts related to the responsibility of preserving the integrity of people´s physical, psychological and social health are added.
