Desde que John McCarthy acuñara la idea de la inteligencia artificial (IA) durante la Conferencia de Dartmouth (Estados Unidos) en 1956, se han desarrollado numerosas líneas de investigación y de aplicación tecnológica desde esta nueva disciplina (Moor 2006).
