Abstract
The Amazon myths have survived in the collective Western imagination for more than two millennia as a legendary stereotype. Something beyond the rational and socially acceptable, but which, perhaps for that reason, generated a special attraction. In the 20th century, Western culture has been shaken by enormous social changes that have not been carried out in a short period of time. The image of women in Western society has been changing little by little, relying on all those cultural icons that could help to offer a new vision of their place. All kinds of influences from art, cinema and TV, comics and videogames have been at work in this process since the 20th century.
