Abstract
The present work explores the negotiation of intimate and relational ties between trans and cis individuals, a little-known area within the corpus of literature on the trans phenomenon, with the aim of determining whether media culture influences the unwillingness of cis individuals to include trans individuals as potential partners. To this end, we pose the following question: how are trans individuals, their partners, and the relationships in which both are involved portrayed in popular culture, and what stereotypes may be contributing to the perception of trans individuals as those who are neither imaginable nor desirable in intimate contexts?...
