Abstract
En la primera parte de esta tesis doctoral se destaca la relación entre niveles elevados de colesterol y lípidos en sangre y distintas patologías cardiovasculares. Para el desarrollo de esta tesis se realiza una extensa revisión bibliográfica de los complementos alimenticios y los tratamientos farmacológicos que presentan un mayor efecto hipolipemiante. Destaca dentro de los complementos alimenticios la levadura de arroz rojo por su alto contenido en monacolina K, mientras que en los tratamientos farmacológicos es la simvastatina la más usada. La escasa solubilidad de la monacolina K y la simvastatina es responsable de su baja biodisponibilidad oral, lo que hace necesaria la búsqueda de mejoras farmacotécnicas que las incrementen...
The first part of this thesis focuses on high cholesterol and lipid levels, along with the associated physiological and pathological conditions.
