El aprendizaje cooperativo en las Ciencias Sociales

Abstract

Frente a la viaja concepción de la metodología tradicional, que tenía un concepto de trabajo en grupo erróneo y que se basaba en la exposición magistral, como único método válido para desarrollar el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje, se levanta la metodología de aprendizaje cooperativo. De forma más concreta, vemos que la Enseñanza Secundaria se ha quedado desactualizada, debido a que no ha sabido nutrirse de nuevas metodologías, entre ellas el aprendizaje cooperativo, que será el objeto de este estudio. El aprendizaje cooperativo surge como respuesta a la diversidad existente en la educación. Llegando a dar respuestas a aquellos alumnos y alumnas que lo requieren, y de forma personalizada, pero sin dejar de lado la propuesta de una escuela inclusiva. Este tipo de metodología supone un fin, y para conseguir ese objetivo se determinan unos medios, que es lo realmente importante de este método, ya que ayuda al alumnado dándole la oportunidad de superar sus marcas, a nivel académico y a nivel social. Por lo tanto, trata de fomentar la cooperación, ya que obliga a los estudiantes a trabajar conjuntamente, para poder obtener posteriormente el éxito, de manera que cada alumno mejora su aprendizaje, al mismo tiempo que trata de que sus compañeros también lo hagan. Todo esto está hilado mediante la motivación, que es el componente que les lleva al trabajo conjunto y a no desistir en su empeño.Cooperative learning methodology is gaining popularity over the old traditional methodology conception. This last one had a wrong idea of group work, and was based on the master exposition as the unique valid method to develop the teaching-learning process. In particular, we see that high school has reached an out of date status, due to the fact that it had not taken advantage of the new methodologies, among which there is the cooperative learning, which is the object of this study. Cooperative learning emerges as an answer to the diversity in education. It answers those students who need it in a made-to-measure way, but without leaving aside the inclusive school proposal. This kind of methodology is supposed to reach a goal, and some means are needed in order to reach it. They are what is important in this method, because they help the students, and they give them the chance to get better both socially and academically. Therefore, it tries to encourage students to cooperation, because it forces them to work in groups, in order to obtain the goal. Each student's learning process gets better, and at the same time (the students tries for other students to get better too). Everything is connected through motivation, which is the constituent that leads them to work together and do not give up.
