Abstract
Tourist overcrowding can lead to a series of negative experiences for both tourists and local communities receiving large numbers of visitors. Tourists seeking a rewarding experience encounter crowds, crowded places, and high prices as a result of high demand. This situation especially affects local communities, placing significant pressure on natural resources, infrastructure, and services. Methodology: Consists of conducting a content analysis of articles in major Balearic newspapers addressing the problem and gathering tourist opinions through official opinion barometers. Results: The results reflect a negative perception and satisfaction with tourism, as well as a problem for local residents. Discussion:We question whether the measures currently being taken are sufficient to curb this overcrowding in the area. Conclusions: There is an urgent need to address this unchecked growth situation, considering all conflicting interests, which deserve to be considered, including economic, environmental, and tourist experience factors.
