La filosofía taurina de Ortega y Gasset

Abstract

La presente comunicación se centra principalmente en la integración de filosofía y arte –garbo-, con la que Ortega y Gasset veía una posibilidad para la filosofía española en la posmodernidad. Además, estima que, de sus obras y sobre todo de sus conversaciones, puede extraerse una idea de aquella filosofía de los toros que, a pesar de ser tan esperada en su tiempo, se pensó y se piensa que no consiguió desarrollar. Los toros, según esta idea, serían un símbolo de la razón vital.

This paper meanly focuses on the integration of Philosophy and Art –Garbo, Poise-, with which Ortega y Gasset saw a possibility for the Spanish Philosophy in the Postmodernity. Besides, it establishes that, from his works and above all from his conversations, it can be drawn an idea of the Philosophy about bullfighting which, although so awaited in his days, was and is generally thought not to have been accomplished. According to this idea, bullfighting would be a symbol of Vital Reason.
