Abstract

El sistema universitario en Estados Unidos mantiene el interés de diferentes colectivos (estudiantes, investigadores y docentes) desde hace muchos años. Los motivos son múltiples y generan que el país sea el primer destino internacional, por delante de las laureadas y reconocidas universidades de la vieja Europa. Grosso modo, la decisión viene dada por el prestigio, la oferta académica, el reconocimiento, etc. Pero existen muchos otros motivos de igual calado que inclinan la balanza hacia el sistema estadounidense, como son: el presupuesto, la neutralidad, los deportes, el mercado laboral, etc.The university system in the United States has held the interest of different groups (students, researchers, and teachers) for many years. The reasons are multiple and make the country the first international destination, ahead of the award-winning and renowned universities of old Europe. Roughly, the decision is given by the prestige, the academic offer, the recognition, etc. But there are many other reasons of equal importance that tip the balance towards the American system, such as: the budget, neutrality, sports, the labor market, etc.
