Abstract
La sociedad digital en la que vivimos junto con los nuevos escenarios telemáticos en educación debidos a la pandemia del COVID-19, han potenciado la aparición de canales de Youtube de gran impacto en educación. Nuestro estudio se centra en el estudio de un canal educativo de éxito de España a través del análisis de los datos ofrecidos por la propia plataforma a su creador, con los objetivos de comprender la génesis de este tipo de canales de YouTube y de destacar sus características esenciales. Los resultados nos muestran los factores de éxito y de impacto del canal (diferenciación, posicionamiento, nomenclatura, abanico de audiencia, atemporalidad e internacionalización) además de las pautas de éxito generalizables a otros canales educativos de YouTube (potenciación de la fuente de tráfico interna de YouTube, importancia de los primeros momentos del vídeo, análisis del feedback de los usuarios, publicación inteligente de los vídeos, captación de suscriptores y conocimiento de la audiencia real). Las conclusiones de esta investigación ofrecen datos de valor para los profesionales de la educación que utilizan vídeos en su práctica docente, para los creadores de contenido educativo audiovisual y para potenciar la mejora de los planes de formación del profesorado en lo relativo a los conocimientos necesarios para generar vídeos educativos y su posterior impacto en los usuarios, teniendo en cuenta el gran uso de este tipo de recursos asincrónicos en la educación actual ya sea de una manera formal o informal.
The digital society in which we live together with the new telematic scenarios in education due to the COVID-19 pandemic, have promoted the appearance of YouTube channels of great impact in education. Our study focuses on the study of a successful educational channel in Spain through the analysis of the data offered by the platformitself to its creator, with the objectives of understanding the genesis of this type of YouTube channels and highlighting its essential characteristics. The results show us the success and impact factors of the channel (differentiation, positioning, nomenclature, audience range, timelessness and internationalization) as well as the generalizable success guidelines to other educational YouTube channels (empowerment of the internal traffic source of YouTube, importance of the first moments of the video, analysis of user feedback, intelligent publication of the videos, attracting subscribers and knowledge of the real audience). The conclusions of this research offer valuable data for education professionals who use videos in their teaching practice, for creators of audiovisual educational content and to enhancethe improvement of teacher training plans in relation to the knowledge necessary to generate educational videos and their subsequent impact on users, taking into account the great use of this type of asynchronous resources in current education, whether ina formal or informal way.Keywords: Educational Technology; Research and Innovation in Educational Technology; Emerging Trends; YouTube; Educational Videos
