Donde no estoy: La sobreexposición mediática de la intimidad en la era digital

Abstract

Esta investigación teórico-práctica reflexiona sobre las consecuencias de la era digital en el contexto sociocultural y tecnológico. El marco de estudio se centra en el análisis de la era digital, sus características y los efectos sociales de la aparición de las primeras plataformas digitales. Además, se presta especial atención a quiénes les afecta la digitalización masiva y cómo. Por otro lado, se indaga en la actual era postdigital y sus principales consecuencias, como la sobreexposición mediática y la pérdida de intimidad en las redes sociales. Como objeto de estudio se presenta el análisis de los usos y los comportamientos de la generación Z en torno a las plataformas digitales, y sus preocupaciones sobre el futuro de la tecnología. De manera complementaria, este proyecto indaga en una consecuencia adicional de la era postdigital: la digitalización masiva de prácticas de creación plástica tradicionales, como el álbum fotográfico y el diario íntimo. Desde la práctica artística, este proyecto presenta la obra titulada Donde no estoy (2025). Utilizando el medio fotográfico y escrito, la obra que presento adopta un carácter narrativo, intimista y autobiográfico, concebido en formato de fotolibro. El proyecto artístico, junto a la investigación teórica, propone un pensamiento crítico y reflexivo sobre el panorama global actual, y sobre quién y cómo compartimos nuestra intimidad.

This theoretical-practical research reflects on the consequences of the digital era in the socio-cultural and technological context. The framework of the study focuses on the analysis of the digital era, its characteristics and the social effects of the emergence of the first digital platforms. In addition, special attention is paid to who is affected by massive digitisation and how. On the other hand, the current post-digital era and its main consequences such as media overexposure and the loss of intimacy in social networks are investigated. As an object of study, the analysis of the uses and behaviours of generation Z around digital platforms and their concerns about the future of technology is presented. In a complementary way, this project investigates an additional consequence of the post-digital era: the massive digitisation of traditional plastic creation practices such as the photographic album and the intimate diary. From the perspective of artistic practice, this project presents the work entitled Where I am not (2025). Using the photographic and written medium, the work uses a narrative, intimate and autobiographical character, conceived in the format of a photobook. The artistic project, together with the theoretical research, proposes critical and reflective thinking about the current global panorama and about who and how we share our intimacy.
