Abstract
The frequency of intravitreal injections has grown exponentially in recent decades and are the first line in the management of multiple neovascular, oedematous and proliferative retinal pathologies. There are different types of drugs that can be administered intravitreally, being corticosteroids and anti-vascular endothelial growth factors (anti-VEGF) the most widely used ones. The incidence of eyelid malpositions after intravitreal injections has been underreported and no prospective studies have been conducted to objectively analyze the changes in eyelid height and contour after injections. The high frequency of intravitreal injections and their expected increase in the future underline the need for a thorough understanding of the adverse effects of this treatment at the eyelid...
