Abstract
If we take as a starting point the conviction that we are at a turning point characterized by societies undergoing a certain mutation, shifting towards a permanent state of interconnectedness that requires new scientific, technological, and cultural knowledge, we can begin to comprehend how the negriat complexity of these processes has ended up directly and indirectly affecting the educational world and, especially, academia. Universities must respond and evolve to give answers to these voices, amongst many other other dimensions that confer their sense social responsibility. And these answers may be fundamentally stemmed on the basis of teaching-learning processes. The need to redefine the organization and structures of university education it is almost reaching the state of being unavoidable. Starting in the definition of the characteristics of its academic repertoire, more so in the so-called regulated professional careers, such as in our case in early childhood, primary and secondary education teaching as well as further academic career-related opportunities.
