Abstract
"Escapada.
"Escape. On times and mirrors" is a reflection on the diversity implied by migration and the cultural "glare" that conceals and stigmatises it and all diversity. An analogy is drawn with Pier Paolo Pasolini's famous story of the disappearing fireflies, and then an aesthetic discussion of art and politics is introduced, concluding with a cruel documentation of the marketing of various deterrent devices, such as bars and barbed wire fences. This text provides a discursive counterpoint to the artistic work "Escapada 2019", which formed part of the group exhibition "Refuges, humanity in transit", framed within the "Robert Capa was here Festival", held at the Nave de Fomento del Museo del Ferrocarril in Madrid in December 2019 on the theme of the transit of populations and refugees, treated as a unitary artistic setting and installation.
